Bristol Digital Futures Institute Fellowship
This week, the University of Bristol’s newest research institute, the Bristol Digital Futures Institute (BDFI) welcomed its First Fellow. We are proud to announce that our Founder and Director, Stephen Hilton, was appointed to this position.
As a Fellow of the BDFI, Stephen will support the work of the Institute’s co-leads, Professor Dimitria Someonidou and Professor Susan Halford, to transform the way society understands and creates digital technologies for economic and social prosperity. By focussing on the connection between society and technology, Bristol Digital Futures Institute will make sure people have a real stake in digital innovation, helping us all to make friends with our digital futures.
Stephen brings more than 20 years’ experience of working with city innovative on collaborative research projects, as well as expertise in developing smart, sustainable, and inclusive cities. As an enthusiastic advocate for the institute’s vision and goals, Stephen will continue his work with businesses, local government, and community partners in finding new ways smart technology can be developed, experienced, and implemented across the South West and with smart cities around the world.
